Welcome to Pekarnya – Yana’s Bakery in Cape Town, South Africa.

What is Pekarnya? Well, it is just that, Bakery. In Russian. Pronounced peh-KAR-niyah, with the emphasis on the second syllable of the word.

Why Russian? Because I was born in Moscow, Russia. This brings me to the second part of the explanation. Yana is my Russian name. My parents and my sister to this day, still call me Yana. So, there you are, ladies and gentlemen.
