The two words often used to describe my baking are eclectic and scrumptious. These two words bring together much of the influences on my life. I was born and bred in Moscow but since have lived on three continents ending up living with my family in beautiful Cape Town. My travels have exposed me to different flavors, cultures, and culinary delights – hence my eclectic style. Additionally, though, as a mother of seven, I get enormous delight preparing food and watching the pleasure taken in enjoying it- I am passionate about food! My passion coupled with my varied influences have resulted in the broad and eclectically scrumptious range I offer. Having started with artisanal bread, constant innovation has resulted in Pekarnya offering more than 15 delicious and wholesome products. I look forward to baking for you!
Originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, Abigirl is a mom of two and lives in Cape Town with her husband and family. Abigirl has been working with Chana for over 10 years as a home executive, she is a talented chef and baker in her own right. As a hobby, in her spare time, Abigirl learned the art of baking birthday cakes and decorating them with fondant. A little over a year ago, Abigirl has joined Chana in her “Pekarnya – Yana’s Bakery” to help make it the success it is today!
Sheron grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe .She comes from a loving family of 7 , being the oldest of 5 siblings. Her father is a teacher and mom is self employed and a home maker. After finishing highschool Sheron decided to embark on a journey of self discovery which took her all the way to Cape Town and lucky for us, brought her here, where Sheron is doing her apprenticeship in Baking. Sheron is extremely passionate and enthusiastic about baking and already has mastered many tricks of the trade.
Esther is a mother of 5 and is originally from Chipinge, Zimbabwe. She is a gifted baker and specialises in making pizza bases.
